I've moved on from 1988 and have gotten myself on a 1980 kick these days. Why? Because I just happened to have a good friend who was born in 1980 that celebrated a birthday recently, and I started thinking about what was going on in horse racing that year. Since uber-community member puddles graciously shared his Breeders' Cup-day photos of Curlin, it occurred to me that our community might like to see a short review of his wonderful career.
