POINTS

You may want to read the Points, Badges & Awards section in our community. We suggest you also view the video tutorial entitled "Community Game Points - How to Earn & Spend".

Like everything in life, the better you are, the most success you will have - at least in that part of your life. Our virtual horse racing world works the same way. I know some people will argue with me that money isn't everything - and I feel the same way, too - but for the sake of explaining how to truly get ahead in our virtual horse racing world, which includes our community and the Horse Racing Fantasy Game, let's just assume that money is power and power is what we all want. In our world, the currency we use are points. Points are obtained by general actions, but more aggressively obtained by successful game play while in the community mode. We'll get into that in just a minute. So, what do points really get you? Because community points are a status symbol, we keep our community points leader board easily accessible from the home page. There you will find the top point earners from all the possible areas to earn points. You will actually be able to sort by particular point source. Under your profile, a member will have two point totals. The first total represents total points earned from game play, community interaction and points you purchase (these are limited). The second number represents your current balance. Think of it as your bank account showing what is available for transactions. The first total is more a status - an indication, along with awards and badges (addressed later on) of your overall status in our community. Compare it to life. True success is not just measured by money (points), but by the things you've done for the community (badges and awards). Please remember the following: When you are accumulating points in the game, you are doing so through several ways. There are multiple ways to accumulate points, but let's first focus on the ways you accumulate points through game play. One way is based on your game play results - for example, your jockey play and your betting play. Your points are displayed in several areas of the Community. Only a certain percentage (or limit) of points earned while playing the game can be used as currency (community points). Community points are specifically shown in the Community under your Player Profile.

Please remember the following rules. The number of community points that can be earned are limited on a daily basis. VIP Subscription Members can earn up to 6,000 points per day while in community game mode. Non-VIP Members can earn up to 1,000 points per day while in community game mode. Again, these are currency or community points shown under your Profile. The maximum number of community points you can earn per race as either a jockey or bettor is 500. It does not matter how many points are earned or displayed under your stats display, whether in the game or in the community. Statistical points - for bragging rights and leader board recognition - have no daily limit. This applies to both VIP Members and to regular game purchase members. In other words, you are accumulating community points (your currency) and statistical points (or stats) that are tied to your game skill. Though they do have some correlation, they do not duplicate each other. Some players are focused on community points, other players are focused on statistical points to be recognized as game leaders and some players are focused on both.

To earn points that will post in the Community and/or post as currency, you must be playing your game in community mode from the Quick Start button only. Playing your game in private mode will only store stats in the game on your computer. The amount of points you earn per race as a jockey or bettor depends upon specific factors relating to the difficulty of either riding the horse and where he finishes (first, second, third or fourth) or the actual ROI of the bet when betting. The higher the ROI, the more points earned. Once again, remember that for community points only, no matter how many points you earn in the race as a jockey or bettor, you are limited to daily totals of 6,000 for VIP subscribers and 1,000 for non-VIP members and no more than 500 per race. Every transaction that has generated community points can be reviewed by a player by simply clicking on their Available Points Total under their User Profile in our community. There you can track and verify every single community point earned since your inception of play.

Players can also earn community points when playing in trainer tournament events. More on that below.

What can I do with my points?

First and foremost accumulate as many points as you can and save those points for opportunities, which will include specific tournaments you want to enter or items you might want to purchase in our online store. Those items could be race files, horse files, horse racing memorabilia, gift certificates, electronics, vacations, Horse Racing Fantasy clothing and much more. Points can be utilized to either discount items in the store by offsetting some of the cash payment required, or if you accumulate enough points, you can actually purchase items in full with points earned.

When playing in tournaments, the one common factor or requirement all tournaments have is a tournament entry fee. (Occasionally we run tournaments with no entry fee required.) The entry fees for our tournaments are always paid with our currency - community points (cash is not accepted). Most tournaments have various qualification requirements, which are tied to many factors. But, that's for a different conversation and all that information can be found in our Tournament Entry Guide in the community. You may also want to check out our video tutorial called "Everything you want to know about tournaments".

How are points valued?

The value of points are based on an exchange rate. The exchange rate will fluctuate up and down depending upon the number of points active in our community (in other words, the number of points sitting in a player's account, just like currency reserves). The more demand for points, the greater the point value. A typical conversion rate, which can fluctuate dramatically, is every 100,000 points has a $10 non-cash redemption value. Below is a chart displaying how players earn points in both the community and game mode and what actions are required to earn points and the value for those points. Please keep the following rules and guidelines in mind when interpreting our point system.

  • Players can use points in conjunction with or in substitution of any cash transaction within our community except for our VIP Monthly Subscription Service, when purchasing points, or where the purchase of an item is specified to be by points only.
  • Cash can be used in our community to purchase everything except tournament entry fees and gift cards.
  • Points are non-cash redeemable and also non-transferable. There are no exceptions to these rules.
  • Points for players who are inactive for more than 6 (six) months will automatically expire. Management can close a players account any time for any reason if they feel such player is disrupting business operations . In such a case when a player has his account closed he can redeem his current available points for items in the store at his total points current game value . If a player has his account closed for game manipulation the player will forfeit all his points immediately .
    No exceptions.
  • Specific purchases, such as our monthly VIP Subscription Service, purchasing of horse files or race files or certain online store items, when paying with cash may earn players bonus points.

    Earn Points Through Free Offers

Instead of bombarding you with emails from advertisers or with banners and popup ads, we've taken a new approach. We partnered with almost 1,000 sponsors from big brands who are willing to reward you with community points for either trying a particular product or service, filling out surveys or visiting a website. These offers earn significant points - some can earn hundreds of thousands. What's great about this program is that because of the number of oturnaments we run and because earning points through traditional game play can be time-consuming, by taking advantage of these offers and surveys (most free) our users can fatten up their community point bank account very quickly. Let's say, for example, there is a tournament you want to enter tomorrow and you're short 10,000 points for the entry fee. Even as a VIP Member, you will not be able to earn enough points through game play in time to enter. But, by simply going through our offers program or Earn Free Points tab, you will find yourself with limitless opportunities on great products and services that can instantly credit you with the points you need for that event.

    Game Play Points

The following in-game points are only earned when the player is in community mode and are not applicable in private game mode, no matter what membership level you have:

Playing as a jockey in the community mode, the player earns the equivalent value as the same points earned as part of the in-game scoring system. Please see the horse racing game chart below. Currency points are limited. VIP Members can only earn a maximum of 6,000 currency points per day and general game purchase members can only earn a maximum of 1,000 currency points per day. Please also note that playing as a jockey or bettor in community mode, no matter how many points you earn in accordance with the chart for statistical purposes, you are limited to 500 points maximum per event up to your daily limit for currency purposes. Statistical points will appear on your Stats Page as well as in the Community Stats as well as your In-Game Players Stats section. Currency points are only displayed under your User Profile in the Community.

Playing our betting game - players will earn points based on positive ROI from bets made for playing in the betting game while in the community mode. ROI is a determination of value or 'return on investment' based upon how much money a player has won against what was bet in the race. Please see the chart below for a complete determination of the ROI conversion on all bets wagered in a particular race. ROI is calculated by the total bets made by the primary user in community mode for a particular race. The same limitations that apply as a jockey also apply as a bettor. Currency points (community points) can only be earned when in community mode. Players are limited to either 6,500 currency points per day as a VIP Subscription Member or 1,000 currency points (community points) per day as a general game member. No matter how many points you earn from an event, you are limited from a currency standpoint to 500 points max per event up to your daily limit.

    Winning Tournaments

Points earned for winning tournaments depends upon certain factors. Those factors include the number of tournament entries and the number of points required to enter the tournament, whether or not the tournament is restricted to VIP Monthly Subscription Members only or is open to all Members and the other parameters or requirements necessary to qualify for the tournament. Under normal tournament conditions, house tournament prizes range from 250,000 to 100,000,000 points per event. Please see the chart below that summarizes how points can be earned in both the virtual online horse racing game and in our horse racing community.

Points earned for finishing 1st is based on the horse’s odds and a multiplier factor. For finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, points earned is a percentage of that earned for finishing 1st: 2nd = 5%; 3rd = 25%; 4th = 10%.

    Bonus Game Points:

Each week, Horse Racing Fantasy may bonus players with community points for just running races (promotional event). The number of bonus points will depend on the promotion and your level of membership. VIP Members always earn substantially more bonus points than non-VIP Members.

    Points from Tournaments:

Winners of both user-generated and management-initiated tournaments or sponsored tournaments will earn community points. The number of community points earned depends upon the number of tournament entries and the point entry fees. Each tournament will clearly identify the community point payout or formula for the payout.

    Badges

As mentioned earlier, part of success in life is not money alone. Just like in real life, in our racing community, success can be measured by other achievements. Some of these achievements are known as Badges. Badges are status symbols and are provided exclusively from Horse Racing Simulation to our members who we believe deserve special recognition. In our world, a Badge is an honor. Badges cannot be purchased and cannot be transferred. Our Badge program will change from time to time, but below you will find the current listing of Badges and what they mean. Badges are easily identified and are directly associated with a member's username throughout the community, specifically seen under his profile.

    • - Your stable has earned more community points than any other stable in the game. This is one of the highest honor badges anyone can receive. Only one person can carry this badge at a time, and currently that person is you. For receiving such top honors, we have bonused your account 25,000 free community points. You must be a great trainer, great breeders and truly understand every aspect of the game. Everyone is envious of this very special badge.
    • - Congratulations! Your stable ranks #2 in community earnings out of all the stables in our community. Your ability to breed the right horses and place your horses in the correct tournaments has earned you this very special status. Be proud – there is only one stable ahead of you, and I know you can catch him.
    • - You are a superstar! Your barn is well-managed and you know how to place your horses in the right tournaments. You currently have the third most community point-earning stable in the entire community This is not an easy accomplishment. It takes a tremendous amount of talent to do this. Only one person can wear this badge at any given time, and that person is you.
    • - You are on the leader board of all-time stable community point leaders. Your fourth place position is a great accomplishment. When you post threads in the forum, expect a lot of respect. Members know your name and feat your barn. Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment.
    • - Your stable rounds out the top 5 of all-time community point earners. Though you’re not in the top 3, which I know you can obtain, you still have accomplished an amazing task. Only 4 other stables in our virtual world have earned more community points. With a little luck and your continued dedication, you might find yourself moving higher on the list. Wear this badge in the community with dignity. You obviously earned it!

    • - You've been recognized by community leaders as someone who has a special skill with several aspects of our game. We applaud and thank you.
    • - You're wearing the gold badge of honor. You're taking your expertise and sharing it with others. You are helping this community. You are dedicated and you're respected.
    • - Management thinks highly of you. You've been given the ability to shut down threads and stop rumors. When you speak, people listen. They know you have the respect of management and that your best interests are for the game andcommunity.
    • - You work for HRF. You've got the power to shut down accounts. Some people like you and some people don't. You're always getting private messages with all types of questions. For the most part, you're a good person. Whether the community agrees or disagrees with you, you try to do your best to build that bond between the community and the HRF management. The community likes you but probably won't have a beer with you on a Saturday night. And, take that suit off!
    • - Everybody knows you as "puddles". Very few people know who puddles it. I'm going to tell them - Puddles was your best friend and your 20-year companion. Puddles was also the name of one of your first race horses. Some people love you; others hate you. But, when there's a problem, everyone goes to you. You have a reputation for being tough and you've embarrassed a few people right in the community. We know you're working hard to build this game and we thank you. We know you try to listen when we have comments and suggestions. Sometimes it seems like you're having a bad day, and we may regret asking the question in the first place. We never know. Overall we respect you and we're rooting for you to build this community to as big as it can be.

      AWARDS

Players who win specific tournaments can earn awards or badges. Not all tournaments earn awards or badges. Special tournaments that earn awards will be identified as part of the tournament prize package. In addition to tournament awards, members can also earn awards at the end of the year that are given to community members for specific achievements throughout the year. In order to motivate an active community, Horse Racing Simulation does not identify what area of action can generate awards until one month prior to the awards event. Certain awards are obtained simply by actions and the frequency of those actions. Other awards will be suggested by our members and then voted upon by the community, giving everyone's voice a chance to be heard.

Be active - be courteous and considerate - be fair - be helpful - friendly - supportive - and your opportunity for awards, which will not only include special badges but also special prizes such as gifts, trips, memorabilia, etc., will be more probable.

Asshole Award - Management has no say. You're nominated for this award by your fellow members. You will wear this award for one week. You ARE the Asshole of the Week! You did it to yourself. Don't blame anyone. Next time, think about what you did. The good news is, you're still allowed to hang out here and deep down, we love you. If we didn't, we wouldn't have given you this award.
